New Years eve is around the corner! Although I’ll be enjoying a quiet evening with friends, I’ll be wishing I was out partying and wearing sparkles.

Tips:
- While hair is still wet, work in a small amount of gel.
- When blow drying your hair, lift hair up at the crown to create volume.
- Wrap varying sections of hair around the barrell of the curling iron, over the clamp, this saves on time and creates a looser, more natural looking curl.
P.S.
Yesterday I went to Disneyland and had a blast! We waited twice in line for Space Mountain (one of those times it was an our and a half wait) and it broke down right before we got to the very front. So instead we decided to go to the Disney Innoventions, which none of us have been in. It was pretty much awesome. I even saw a 3D printer, it was amazing.

Who’d a thought when braids started showing up this summer that the trend would last into the new year. Runway shows have been sporting long, over the shoulder plaits. My personal favorite is finding ways to add braiding details into staples like the messy chignon and ponytails.

I put together a last minte tutorial on my favorite braided hairstyle. After you get the hang of it, it’ll take you about 5 mins to do, which makes it excellent for bad hair days. Please excuse the funky camera work!
1. Take large sections and curl your entire head, the curls don’t need to be perfect, they’re used to create movement and a curl and the end which will help you out later on.

2. Section out a chunk of hair 1 inch away from your front hairline.

3. Braid and fasten with a small rubber band, then repeat on the other side.

4. Section out a box at the crown and tease it to create some volume. It’s smarter to go bigger than you want, because you will lose volume later and you can always brush it down.

5. Brush down your bump to desired height.

6. Gather into a low pony tail behind one ear and secure with a rubber band.

7. Grab a 1 inch section from the pony tail. Follow the curl you’ve already made and create a loop, let a little bit of the ends hang out.

8. Secure loop to head with a bobby pin. Continue to pin into a cluster around the base of your ponytail.

8. Secure down any side pieces that are hanging with bobby pins, except for some adorable face framing and you’re done!

The perfect cat eye is something to covet. It’s versatile and always in style. There are two ways of approaching them, either with liquid liner or a shadow with a thin angled brush. Usually the latter is the way to go, however, I prefer liquid liner because I have oily eyelids and it keeps from creasing all day and is quicker to apply. Both tutorials below use brushes, however the principle is the same.

Here are two videos that I think are most helpful, one is more subtle and the other more dramatic
Check out Sarah Victor and Kandee Johnson, they are both amazing!
Sorry I got to this post so late, I was too busy enjoing the festivities. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and it’s full of love!
